Larry Summers en 2005

Krugman sur son blog du NYT attire l'attention sur un papier exposé devant un aéropage d'économistes et de banquiers centraux par Raguram Rajan intitulé "Has Financial Development made the world riskier?" (via WSJ). Il le qualifie de prophétique.

Extrait: "I will argue in this paper that the changes in the financial sector have altered managerial incentives, which in turn have altered the nature of risks undertaken by the system, with some potential for distorsions."

No shit!

Ce qui est intéressant, c'est qu'il y a également un verbatim de la réaction des participants. Larry Summers (nouvelle star de l'équipe économique d'Obama), est condescendant et juge le propos "misguided". Une preuve s'il en fallait d'un des thèmes favoris du Blogo à savoir que les gens en charge aujourd'hui dans l'équipe d'Obama sont précisément ceux qui ont été les cheerleaders des excès qui nous ont conduit où nous en sommes.

Way to go, Larry! Let's make you special counsel to the President for economic matters.
